It all depends on the subject. I usually either do some warmup sketches until I find something I like or do some research and thumbnails for the original subjects. I've been spending anywhere from an hour to 3 hours on sketching. I have a lot of stuff in my book that's not posted.
The hardest part has been coming up with a subject to draw everyday since I'm not used to stretching that muscle daily. Any tips would be helpful!
I really liked how you were taking on all the X-men and designing them in your own style. As far as subject matter, you could make a list of comic book or 80's/90's cartoon series to design out. It could be your back up list when you get stuck, only to return to when you have writer's block on an original idea.
That's a great idea. I definitely need a list like this. I could probably name most of the X-Men by heart. Using cartoon series is a great idea too. There's a lot in that well. I was thinking of doing the Snorks.
Excellent progress, sir! All of these look really good. How long are you spending on each one?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
